Biography —
Helinna is an undergraduate studying Psychology with Chemistry and Global Health & Medical Humanities minors at the University of Kansas. She is also on the pre-medical track and is originally from Manhattan, Kansas. During high school, at Kansas State University, she conducted research with Dr. Meena Kumari on whether cultured human astrocytes express and secrete thrombospondin-1 (TSP1) and thrombospondin-2 (TSP 2); and if there was secretion, whether chronic oxycodone exposure affects the TSP1 and TSP2 secretion. She is currently interested in research related to physical chemistry and psychology.
